Look Your Best

Here are some things to consider when preparing for your portraits.

Clothing

Solid colors always look the best.  Avoid large prints or patterns that detract from your face.  Casual outfits in earth tones work the best for outdoor photographs.  Middle tones to deep solid colors are ideal for indoor and outdoor portraits.  Long-sleeved shirts or sweaters look better rather than short-sleeved or sleeveless.

Hair

Plan to wear your hair in a style you are comfortable with.  Avoid new cuts or styles.  Allow 4 to 7 days on a new cut.

Glasses

If you wear glasses, wear them for your portraits, but have the lenses removed.  Ask your eye professional to remove them; they are glad to do it for you.

For the Girls

Keep your make-up natural and fresh.  Avoid over doing it.

For the Guys

Have a fresh shave… it’s a must!  The camera sees it all.  If you have a beard or mustache, make sure it is neatly trimmed.

For All

Avoid getting sunburn.

Keep jewelry to a minimum – glare from large or flat jewelry can be a distraction and costly to fix.

Get plenty of rest before your session – if you are tired, it will show.

Relax and enjoy your portrait session – you want to look your best!

Bring your favorite CD music to your session – If you feel good, you’ll look good!
